Engagements
Z-Space Dynamics undertakes commissioned research, private briefings and decision reviews for organizations whose decisions turn on strategic infrastructure, energy, supply chains and emerging technology.
Three forms of engagement
- Commissioned research. A full paper or a private report on a question of the client’s choosing, held to the published standard: every claim tagged by its evidence, sources cited, and the verdict set out as scenarios with the signals that would tell them apart.
- Private briefings. A written or spoken briefing on a developing situation, such as an energy disruption, a supply-chain exposure or a technology adoption decision, prepared for the people who have to act on it.
- Decision review. An independent read of a capital, procurement or technology decision before it is committed: vendor proposals, lease and service terms, deployment plans, and the payback and risk models behind them.
Where the work is done
Energy and strategic infrastructure: chokepoints, refining and delivery capacity, and the security exposure of the systems that move energy. Supply chains and logistics: freight, fuel and equipment, and what it costs when they do not move. Emerging technology: AI, robotics and automation treated as capital assets with duty cycles, supply chains and failure modes. Exploratory research: the same method applied to questions outside those areas, where the question warrants it.
How an engagement begins
The most useful first note states the question, the decision it will inform, what is already known, and when an answer is needed. A conversation follows. Scope, deliverables, timeline and fee are then set out in writing, and work begins only once those terms are agreed.
Confidential by default
Commissioned work is confidential. Material a client provides is used only for that engagement, and a client’s identity is not disclosed without permission.
A mutual non-disclosure agreement can be signed before any substantive material is exchanged, on the client’s standard form or on Z-Space Dynamics’ own. Commissioned work is not published, and is not used in published research in any way that identifies the client, unless the client agrees in writing. Arrangements for confidential correspondence can be made on request.
Terms of acceptance
Engagements are accepted only where the commissioning party is identified and the work complies with United States law, including export-control and foreign-agent registration requirements. Z-Space Dynamics does not accept engagements whose conclusions are fixed in advance, and may decline any engagement.
Commissioned work is kept separate from the published research. The independence policy is set out in Research Standards.
Write with the question, the decision it informs, and when an answer is needed.
